Motions to Reopen
Asking the court to reopen a case after a decision has been made.
A motion to reopen asks the immigration court or the Board of Immigration Appeals to look at a case again after a final decision. It usually must be based on new facts or evidence. In general there are time and number limits, with limited exceptions, for example in some cases where a person did not receive notice of a hearing or where conditions in the home country have changed.
Filing a motion does not always stop a removal order from being carried out. Because the deadlines are strict, speak to an attorney as soon as you can. Our attorney can represent you in matters she accepts.
